Notifications you get from Roz
Roz sends you a push notification in the Roz app when something changes that is about you. A notification goes to every phone where you are signed in to the Roz app.
Where do my notifications come from?
Roz sends shift and request notifications to the Roz app. If you do not use the app, check your shifts on the staff website. See The Roz app.
When do I get a notification?
Your roster
- Your manager publishes a roster with your shifts in it.
- Your manager publishes changes to a roster. You hear only about the changes to your own shifts.
Your shifts
- Your manager adds you to a shift, changes your shift, cancels it, removes it, or puts you back on it.
- Someone picks up your shift.
Requests
- A colleague asks to swap shifts with you, or asks you to take a shift.
- A colleague accepts or declines your swap.
- A colleague withdraws a swap they asked you about.
- Your manager approves or declines your request (a swap, a cancellation, a pick-up, or a declined offer).
- A shift is open for you to pick up.
Leave
- Your manager approves or declines your leave.
Chat
- Someone sends you a message, mentions you, or Roz replies in a chat.
Your manager can choose not to notify people about a roster change. Then you see the change in the app, but you get no notification.
What happens when I tap a notification?
The app opens at the item. For example, a shift change opens that shift, a chat message opens that message, and a leave decision opens your leave.
What do the buttons on a notification do?
A swap request from a colleague has two buttons:
- Accept opens the app and accepts the swap. The app shows Swap accepted. A manager still has to approve it. The swap is not final until your manager approves it.
- Not this time opens the app and declines the swap. This is final for that request.
You can also answer the same request in the app, on your Home tab under Needs you, or on the Requests tab. See Swapping shifts.
Where else do I see what is new?
- The Requests tab shows a number when a colleague waits for your answer on a swap.
- The Comms tab shows a number for unread chat messages.
- Your Home tab lists what waits for you under Needs you.
How do I turn notifications off?
- In the Roz app, tap the settings button (the cog) at the top of the screen.
- Under Preferences, turn off Notifications.
This stops notifications on this phone only. Turn the switch on again to get them back. You can also turn off notifications for Roz in your phone’s own settings.
If you turn notifications off, you can miss a change to your shifts. Check the app often.
