People and places
Managing staff
Your staff are the people Roz schedules. The more it knows about each person, the better it can build a roster that works.
Adding a staff member
Open the Staff tab and choose Add staff. For each person you can set:
- Name and role — what they do (e.g. barista, nurse, supervisor).
- Contracted hours — how many hours a week they should get, so Roz can balance the roster and flag anyone over or under.
- Availability — the days and times they can work.
- Preferences — softer wishes, like “prefers mornings” or “no Sundays”, that Roz weighs when proposing shifts.
Why availability and preferences matter
- Availability is a hard limit — Roz won’t place someone outside it without warning you.
- Preferences are soft — Roz tries to honour them but can trade them off when coverage demands it.
Inviting staff
Invite a team member by email and they get access to their own view. Invites are sent for you — see Getting help if an invite doesn’t arrive.
Editing someone’s details
Open a staff member from the list to update their role, hours, availability, or preferences. Changes apply to future rostering immediately. You can also ask Roz — “What are Sam’s preferences?” — see Asking Roz anything.
