Rosters
Building your first roster
A roster starts life as a draft — a working copy only you and your managers can see. You build it up, check it, then publish it to your team.
Before you start
Make sure you’ve added your sites and staff. Roz needs to know where shifts run and who can work them.
Step by step
- Open the Rosters tab and choose New draft.
- Pick the site and the week (or date range) the roster covers.
- Add shifts. You can:
- Add them one at a time on the grid, or
- Ask Roz to draft coverage for you — “Fill the café for next week, two staff each morning.” See Editing with Roz.
- Assign staff to each shift. Roz can suggest who fits best based on availability, roles, and your rules.
- Check for gaps and rule breaches. The editor flags uncovered timeslots and any shift that breaks a rule.
- When it looks right, publish the roster.
Working in the editor
The roster editor is a grid of days and staff. Drag to move shifts, click to edit times, and watch the coverage indicators. See The roster editor for the full tour.
You can always change it later
Drafts are meant to be edited. Even after you publish, you can make changes — see Publishing a roster and Roster history.
